  2. What are the Indian Defence Stocks that went up during the war (I was asked this because I told them I have been following India Pakistan War News)
  3. What are some stocks that went down during this time?
  4. Why Donald trump imposed high tarrifs on various countries?
  5. If he imposed them, why did he revoke them?
  6. Tip:
  7. Prepare well, even if you don't know the answer, try to explain them your thinking. Interviewers were helpful.
  8. Don't panic, when interview started, one professor (probably from IIM C) just making rounds around us (me and two other professor) just to check if I am panicking or not.

  • Analyse previous year question papers carefully — certain areas consistently carry high difficulty levels. Focus more on those areas while preparing. Remember, it’s not during practice but in the exam when those 35 questions from QA and LRDI feel overwhelming due to the pressure and time crunch. That’s when your preparation truly gets tested. So, go beyond standard practice — solve slightly tougher questions, even from JEE Main level, to build that extra edge.
  • Also, for interviews, make sure to prepare from the pgdba.ml website — it has a good collection of previous year interview questions. Go through them thoroughly to get a clear idea of what kind of questions are usually asked. This will help you stay one step ahead and reduce the surprise factor during the actual interview.

(1) Go for PGDBA only if you are interested in Mathematics/Statistics and really want to be in data science domain. PGDBA is not a backdoor entrance at IIMC. It is a different program than MBA. (2) Revise 11-12 Mathematics. You can start with basic book like NCERT, but also practice from a JEE main level book (RD Sharma objective book, SK Goyal or Amit M. Agarwal etc. Pick anyone of these.) Do relevant math PYQs from JEE main. (3) For DILR/VARC follow CAT material. Do CAT PYQs. (4) Definitely solve all PGDBA PYQs and take at least 5 full time mock tests. Exam pattern is different than CAT and you need to be accustomed to it.

Tips for Aspirants
  • Please revise math thoroughly, use JEE Mains math textbooks for calculus/Algebra/Probability/Coordinate geometry (like cengage for example)
  • it will quite literally carry the written score
  • Please aim to score a bit higher in the written test if the Acads are on the lower end / Work experience is less than 1.5 years.
  • For the interview. Please don't panic and try to remember/learn/cram everything in the weeks following up to the interview. If you're a fresher, be very thorough with your math skills.
  • Interview for the higher work ex folks 1.5+
  • Please be honest with your work and whatever you mention about it. There's absolutely no need to use popular AIML jargon unless you were actually an AIML developer. Speak frankly and clearly about your roles and responsibilities, however redundant you may seem to think that they were.
  • Mention the things that you brought to the table, and what set you apart from the team. Most importantly, be passionate about your work and the way you present it to the panel. (But do not boast or be dishonest)
  • Be very clear of your goals ( what you expect from the course et al) and how it's going to help you in the long run. Your job is to convince them that your aim and intent is clear.
  • (I have noticed that aspirants fumble hard during the interview because they are not clear as to why they're doing this, money, is obviously a thing, but that cannot be the only driving factor)
  • (I had made it very clear to the panel that I don't want to be siloed as a purely operations resource and explained how this course would help me be more resourceful and help a diverse set of domains. This was in relations to my work ex)

  • For written exam, do many types of problems. In Quants, If foundation is strong and you have a little idea on how to approach a problem it becomes easier.
  • For DI/LR again do varied type of sets so you can approach a problem faster.
